Appointment of Mr. Olivier Tabone as new Chief Financial Officer for SMN Power Holding SAOG and Affiliates.
Muscat, Oman, 20 January 2015: The Board of Directors of SMN Power Holding SAOG (“the Company”) is pleased to advise the Capital Market Authority, the Muscat Securities Market and the investors’ community about its resolution to appoint Mr. Olivier Tabone as Chief Financial Officer of the Company in replacement of Mr. Frederic Halkin effective 20 January 2015.
Mr. Frederic Halkin will leave SMN Power Holding SAOG by the same date and pursue new professional challenges within the Power and Water desalination sector in the region.
Mr. Olivier Tabone holds a Master Degree in Management and Accounting from Toulouse Business School, France.
Mr. Olivier Tabone brings over 15 years of financial management experience. He began his career in 1998 working for Faurecia Automotive in Germany as Plant Assistant Controller and later in Paris as Financial Controller of its International Joint-Venture Programmes. Between 2002 and 2008, he worked for Messier-Dowty (a subsidiary of SAFRAN) at its Headquarter in Paris as Finance Manager for its Airbus Programmes and later at its UK business as Finance Manager for all planning and reporting activities.
He subsequently joined GKN Aerospace (a subsidiary of GKN PLC) as Finance Director of its major business on the Isle of Wight (UK), where he was responsible for all financial activities.
He joined Mubadala in 2010 as Vice-President Finance in charge of financial planning and business performance for the Aerospace Unit. He also played a key role in several business development and restructuring activities, including the M&A sale transaction of Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT) to Etihad Airways.
The Board of Directors of SMN Power Holding SAOG welcomes Mr. Olivier Tabone and expresses all its gratitude to Mr. Frederic Halkin for the work completed and projects achieved successfully over the last 4 years within SMN Power Holding SOAG and its affiliates.
Similarly, the same resolution was taken by the respective Boards of Directors of SMN Barka Power Company SAOC and Al Rusail Power Company SAOC, subsidiaries of SMN Power Holding SAOG.
